Instructions for Submission

– Abstracts are limited to 200 words and should be submitted as Word files

– All inquiries regarding the abstract submission process should be directed to

Presentation Guidelines

 Abstract formatting Instructions:

Use the Calibri font with exact line and paragraph spacing as described below.

TITLE

Centered. Boldface roman/italics, Calibri 10-point type, 11-point line spacing, 3-point spacing after last line.

AUTHORS

  • Given (first) name, middle initials, last name, center-justified, in italics. Calibri 10-point type, 11-point line spacing, 3-point spacing after last line. Separate names by semicolons.
  • Presenting author’s name in underlined font.
  • If multiple authors, each author is separated from each other by a semi colon (;)
  • Superscript number at end of name for affiliation (unless all are at the same institution).

 

AUTHOR AFFILIATIONS

  • Center-justified, Calibri 10-point type, 11-point line spacing.
  • Corresponding author email in italics, 3 point-spacing after the last line.

BODY TEXT:

  • Full justified, Calibri 10-point type, 11-point line spacing.
  • 6-point spacing after each paragraph. Maximum line length 86 mm (3 3/8 inches).
  • Keep the length of the abstract’s body text to a maximum of 200 words.
  • Save and submit as a WORD or equivalent processor file, (.doc, .docx or .odt).
  • An example of a properly formatted abstract can be downloaded here .
  • This file can be used for preparation of abstracts to be submitted.
  • Labelling your abstract file
  • Each abstract should be saved as follows
  • Last Name_ Type of Presentation-Division Code. For example: Stock_ O-NE
  • If multiple submission under the same name and same session, please add a number after Session Code

Example: Stock_O-NE1; Stock_O-NE2

O= Oral

PO= Poster

S= Symposium

PS= Plenary Session

Divisions Codes

BA= Bacteria

BI= Beneficial Invertebrates

FU= Fungi

MC= Microbial Control

MI= Microsporidia

NE= Nematodes

VI= Viruses

Plenary Session, Divisional/ Cross-Divisional Symposia
Presentations are maximum of 25 minutes in length and 5 minutes for questions, unless otherwise specified by the chair of each symposia. Please refer to the symposia booklet or contact your Symposium Chair for more information on your specific session.

Division Contributed Talks/Presentations
Presentations are a maximum of 12 minutes in length and 3 minutes for questions. Please refer to the program for specific details about your presentation.

PowerPoint Presentation File Submission

Please send your presentation as a .ppt file (not larger than 10 MB) not later than 24 h prior to your scheduled session to the following address:   scientific@sip2025chile.cl

Alternatively, you may upload your oral presentation file (ppt) not later than 24 h prior to your scheduled session at the registration desk.

For sending and uploading, please name your file with your presentation number (see program) followed by the presenter´s name (e.g. NE10_Stock.ppt)

Poster Presentations

  • Poster presentations will be displayed throughout the meeting and the presentation will occur during a single day and session. This will take place on Wednesday August 6th from 17.00 h to 19.00 h . Double-sided masking tape will be provided; pins may not be used. Posters must be put up after 12 PM on Monday and they must be removed 12PM on Thursday, or they will be discarded.
  • Posters should be approximately 840 mm (2.8 ft) wide by 1190 mm (3.9 ft) tall (DIN/ISO A0). Format: Portrait NOT Landscape must be used
  • Include the poster title at the top of your poster.
  • The title should be followed by a list of authors and affiliations. Please highlight the presenting author.
  • Text should be readable at 120 cm. A minimum font size of 28 is recommended.
  • There will be no facilities at the conference venue for poster printing or editing.
